Mechanical Engineering
ABOUT
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 2008. The department provides a B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) from 2007 to 2008, and an M.E. (Product Design and Development) beginning in 2018. Our mission is to be a leading center of excellence in Mechanical Engineering, where teaching, learning, and research work together to provide technical education and scientific discoveries for the public benefit. Our objective is to develop competitive mechanical engineers who are capable of performing on a worldwide scale. Our desire to attain this through establishing a research center focused on current research in collaboration with industry. The projects and hands-on activities are intended to instill a sense of entrepreneurship in students and help a few to begin building their own companies.
The department's faculty members are highly qualified and experienced, with all holding Ph.D. degrees. The faculty members are actively involved in research and regularly publish articles in international and national journals. Stanford University (USA) has named six faculty members on its list of the world's top 2% scientists. The department routinely arranges technical seminars for faculty members to introduce them to new topics. The department features cutting-edge facilities for several labs, a department library, and classrooms to enable e-learning. The department has a well-equipped centralized workshop facility that meets the demands of many departments. Guest lectures and industry trips are conducted on a regular basis to enrich the students' coursework. We aim for all-round excellence in our kids and encourage them to participate in all extracurricular activities. More than 20 Ph.D. scholars have finished their degrees, including 10 full-time and 25 part-time. Material science, renewable energy, biofuels, and internal combustion engines are all active areas of study.
