CLAB : LAB IN CLASSROOM

First and the only college in India to have laboratory inside the classroom. A combined lecture and practice provides “experiential learning” to our students. This helps our students to clearly understand and visualize the concepts.

MILA

We at SSE follow our proprietary MILA system of teaching, which is an activity-based learning process. All our classes are very interactive and engaging with activities which not only keep the students interested in the topic but also help them break down and easily understand the challenging topics and imply the concepts effectively at will.

SMALL GROUP LEARNING

Small-group learning at SSE supplements discussions, lectures and other regular class formats. Students where they work together in small groups of typically 3-5 members that allow them to clinch a range of interactive and collaborative skills which are often hard to develop in individual study situations, and large-group environments such as lectures. Learners are also motivated towards a common goal, working as a group to support each other's learning processes.

PLACEMENT AND TRAINING CELL

Placement and Training Department of SSE plays a fundamental role in making students industryready. The objective is to prepare the students for real time experience. SSE organizes several campus recruitment drives for placements as well as internships. We relentlessly work together with industries on various skill expansion programs making way for the leading recruiters to recruit productive professionals from our campus.

SAVEETHA FOREIGN LANGUAGES CENTRE

SFLC is a multi-lingual foreign language centre that was set up in 2016, with the aim of imparting high-quality language training to students at different levels, from Beginner to Advance to meet global needs and turn these foreign languages into an asset for those who aim to connect to multinational companies and look for opportunities abroad. SFLC conducts foreign language classes in French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and English for the students of the campus as well the university helping them to gain certifications in their desired language. In addition, SFLC has launched few Diploma courses in French, Japanese and German in the evenings of the weekdays which are accessible to all learners of the SIMATS.

RESEARCH EXCELLENCE

Students have a wide range of co curricular activities where in students take up innovative ideas and develop them into prototype and marketable and saleable products useful for the society. These are then converted into design and application patents by a team working on the same during the first second and third year of their programme. In the final year , students work on their research projects following a well organised protocol framed, and convert them into research manuscripts which will be published in highly reputed conferences and journals improving their skills.

LIFE AT SSE

Cultural and Sports Festival has by far been the largest cultural festival of SSE, Chennai. This inception has served as a pioneer of art and culture for young engineers. It is a world where people will be snowed under to enter but never think of exit. Through the years providing an awesome experience has been the jam of the festival and achieving it every year has been our heritage. Various technical activities such as conferences, workshops, invited talks, expert talk series and other events are being organised by various departments of the University with the primary purpose being, “To nurture professional skills and impart fine qualities to the students.” It also has gaming events to thrill and create an environment filled with fun and frolic.
